Paradise Valley Hospital (PVH) is an 301 bed acute care facility in National City, California. It began operation in 1904 as a sanitarium and is currently under the ownership and operation of Prime Healthcare Services, Inc. (PHS), a hospital management company located in Victorville, CA. Paradise Valley Hospital is the largest employer in National City, with an ethnically diverse workforce of approximately 1,500 employees.〔http://www.utsandiego.com/uniontrib/20070216/news_1m16paradise.html〕 ==History== Paradise Valley Hospital was founded in 1904 by Ellen G. White, who helped to purchase of land with the purpose of beginning a healthcare institution named Paradise Valley Sanitarium. This occurred during the health reform of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, who later turned the sanitarium into a full-fledged hospital.
